Widget – Declarative Surveys
A declarative survey widget is a visible on-page element (e.g. tab, bubble, icon) that allows users to voluntarily launch a survey at a moment that suits them. It doesn’t interrupt the visit or force participation, making it a discreet yet always-available feedback tool.
Example: a widget displayed on the right side of the screen on desktop.
When to Use:
When you want the survey to be continuously available without disrupting the user experience
On sites where users spend more time (e.g. news portals, service platforms)
As a channel for ongoing collection of suggestions, feedback, or general impressions—especially from dissatisfied users
Advantages:
Non-intrusive – Users choose whether and when to respond
Long-term data collection without affecting UX
Fully customizable styling to match your website’s visual identity
Best Practices:
Place the widget in a visible but unobtrusive location (e.g. bottom-right corner)
Use a short and clear call to action (e.g. “Got a minute? Share your feedback!”)
You can also treat the widget as a permanent feedback channel for site visitors
Consider adding a temporary hover message or nudge next to the widget to encourage interaction
