Enriching Surveys with User Data
The YourCX platform allows you to enrich survey results with additional data about users, products, or visit context by passing customer data. These inputs enable the creation of segments, filters, and more advanced analysis of results, leading to more accurate insights.
What Are User Data Passed to Surveys?
User data passed to surveys are technical or business variables that describe the user or their session — whether on a website, in a physical store, or in another research context — at the moment a survey invitation is displayed or a survey is being completed. Collecting this data enables you to:
Filter responses based on customer data (e.g., by customer type),
Analyze user behavior depending on customer segments (e.g., by region),
Create more precise analyses and detect issues faster.
The method of passing data depends on the context and channel through which the survey is distributed:
Online via websites
In mobile applications
Via email or SMS sent through the YourCX platform
Independently distributed by the client
Common Examples of Segment Data Passed to Surveys:
User type (new / returning)
Login status (logged in / not logged in)
Traffic source (SEO / Ads / Social Media)
Customer segment (e.g., silver, gold, platinum)
Session ID, User ID, Order ID
Why Is It Worth Passing Segment Data?
Enables precise analysis of results in the context of user behavior or characteristics.
Supports reporting tailored to different business segments.
Improves targeting of corrective or optimization actions.
Helps identify issues specific to certain customer groups.
Enhances reporting on marketing and sales performance.
Important Notes:
Passed data appear in YourCX survey results as additional customer segments.
The data must be available at the moment the survey invitation is shown or during the survey itself.
